FAQs

Q. How far in advance should we get in touch about booking you?

A year- 18 months before would be the perfect time. This means I can calculate my workload for the month a year in advance to unsure every wedding film gets my full attention and isn't rushed during the editing stage. It also means that my package brochure will still be up-to-date and valid. Our books are currently open for 2024. They will open for 2025 in Jan 2024.

Q. What info should we have before contacting you?

The date of the wedding is important as it means we can figure out if the date is free before too much back and forth. Location is also important just to ensure we're staying in Ireland. I’d also love to know a bit about your plans and who else you’ve booked! All other details can be discussed afterwards!

Q. How far is the furthest you travel?

Travel fees are included within your package price as long as videographers remain within Ireland. Although we do have a maximum journey time of 2 hours the morning of your wedding. We’re based in Dunmurry, Belfast. If your venue exceeds this journey time a fee may be added for accommodation the night before. We would also love to be involved in destination weddings but the price will be raised depending on distance.

Q. Can we choose our own music?

This is a little bit tricky as popular music usually isn’t copyright free and so can’t be posted on social media or used without a very expensive license. I usually use the websites Musicbed or Artlist for songs- the license fee for these is included in your price. Picking the music is an important aspect for me as it can really add to the final film. I will always do my best to pick the best songs & try to match the vibe of your day.

Q. Do you use a drone?

Yes! Although they are subject to weather and flight restrictions. If appicable we will include beautiful aerial footage of your venue/s and the surrounding area.

Q. What if we’d like more hours with you?

First and foremost- fantastic news! I’d love to stick around for the party or maybe catch a morning of activity? We’ll charge £75 per hour after our normal coverage time but let us know when enquiring and we can chat it through.

Q. I feel awkward infront of the camera- is this an issue?

Trust me- I get it. For being someone who films people for a job I HATE being in front of the camera. I blame my photographer uncle who used me as a Guinea pig for portraits for YEARS. I like to keep things relaxed. It’s all about you and your personality so I like to capture things in a documentary style. You won’t even know I’mthere. The only posing I’ll ask for is some natural shots during your couples season. Things like walking together hand in hand & maybe a cuddle or a smooch if you’re game! Gotta get the shot..…but the rest is candid! You won’t even know I’m there.

Q. Can you film at both locations when getting ready the morning of?

Short answer- Yes. Long answer- this depends on travel time between the two locations. If travel time allows we can nip over to the second parties house and grab some getting ready shots no problem. Another option is to have a second shooter included in your package. This is £250 extra and is subject to availability. If this is really important to you why not consider getting ready at your venue rather than individual homes or go full 21st century and get ready together!

Q. How would you describe your style of wedding videography?

I'd describe my style as creative, modern, relaxed & unique. I'll do my best to capture not only your day but your personality as a couple as well. I like to think that I have an intuition for things that people would like in their film meaning that every video is unique and tailored to you. This also means an adaptive style. I've been doing this long enough to know how to capture and edit a wedding film so going above and beyond that means adapting to the scenarios in your day and embracing them. A relaxed style also means candid, documentary style videography- so no posing shots or taking you completely out of your comfort zone. I'd like to think I'm easy to talk to and very sympathetic to the stresses of the day so please leave your worries at the door with me and trust that your film is in good hands!

Q. How do we go about booking our wedding film with you?

All we need is a 10% deposit and a signed contract when booking to secure the date…then you’re all booked in! This deposit is non-refundable after 30 days but can be moved to a new date if needed. We’ll get in touch slightly closer to the day with a wedding timeline questionnaire to find out of the details and to arrange a coffee date to have a chat about it. It’s at this stage that we’ll ask for the remaining balance. I’d be happy to meet couples before booking to discuss any further questions.

Q. How long will our video take to edit?

I put a lot of time and effort into the editing process. In some ways it’s my favourite part as it’s when everything comes together. It takes on average 2-3 days to watch back every second shot on your day and then comes the actual editing, picking music and telling the story. On average films take 6 weeks but can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks depending on the season.

Q. Is there anything we as a couple can do to get the best result?

Yes please- first of all allow me to have a short break during the day ideally during your meal. This allows me a few minutes to gather my gear, backup some files, have a drink and some food. You’d be surprised how much I forget to eat and drink on the day. It’s so jam packed with your vendors always feeling like they need to be everywhere at once...it gets tiring. Don’t worry I’ll still have my head in the game planning the shots for the rest of your day. I’d also REALLY apprecaite a hot meal for myself and possibly my second shooter if possible. You’d be surprised how hard it is to find somewhere to eat if your venue is rural. If not we’ll need to request an hour break to leave and get some food. I am not responsible for lack of coverage during this time. Besides no-one wants footage of themselves eating anyway! Please also communicate with your guests to let them know that I am a documentary style videographer and they can just sit back and relax. Please also communicate any shots you’d like in your film. I pride myself on having an intuiation as to what people will really want included in their film but I’m not a mindreader and can’t be held responsible for any specific shots you need included but didn’t mention. Please rest assured though that I have shot lots of weddings and know how to grab the main shots you’ll need.

Q. Do you have any advice for couples searching for vendors in your category?

I'd say to research and watch as many wedding films as you can. It's important to find videographers who embrace your style and capture weddings the way you’d love yours to be captured. I'd like a couple to choose me because we have a similar style. I feel like we'd get the best outcome this way.

Q. Any general advice for couples planning their wedding?

I’d have to say- stay true to yourselves and what YOU want from your big day. It's yours after-all. Don't let anyone change your mind and make sure to show off your personality and style with whoever you choose as your vendors.
